Dear Beta Alpha Psi Members and Candidates,
Welcome back from summer! I would first like to thank all of the officers who worked so hard this summer preparing the activities and event s for the fall and spring semesters to come and for all their continuing hard work throughout the semesters. I would like to recognize and thank our wonderful faculty advisor Betty Cossitt for all her hard work in making our chapter as successful as it has been. Also, I’d like to congratulate the nationals’ group for making a tremendous appearance in Anaheim, CA this summer and for winning the competition “Project Run with It” (more information at www.mossadams.com).
Beta Alpha Psi is a premier international honorary service committee respected and recognized worldwide. We provide the essential tools for members to gain experience in their fields of interest while also providing the best of opportunities to network with the most prestige peers and employers. Our goal is to recognize academic excellence while fostering lifelong growth, service, and ethical conduct.
Since Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919, it has expanded to over 300 different chapters internationally with more than 330,000 participating members worldwide! Our Zeta Iota chapter has earned the highest international ranking, “Superior Status”, the last four out of five years and it is our goal to sustain “Superior Status” throughout the new school year to come. This year the Beta Alpha Psi International Board of Directors became aware of some chapters who were going significantly beyond the requirements of “Superior Status” and therefore decided to give an award to the top 15 chapters internationally. The recognition and award is called the “KPMG Gold Challenge” and only 5% out of all the chapters internationally can attain this recognition. Come join us and be apart of the most prestige BAP chapter recognized worldwide as we place ourselves in the top 5% of all chapters this year.
Throughout the summer the officers have met several times to establish some new goals for the 2008-2009 year. One of our goals for the year is to expand our membership in the fields of finance and information systems as well as provide additional activities and events concentrated around these fields of study. We are also looking to maintain our superior status and go beyond that by achieving the “KPMG Gold Challenge” award. We have an outstanding itinerary this year full of events and activities. Come join Beta Alpha Psi in our continuing success this year!
In order to be successful in Beta Alpha Psi, members must check web-campus daily for new updates, postings, job opportunities, and much more. Checking web-campus daily is extremely important as it keeps all of our members informed of our events and keeps all members in communication with one another. Think of it as your new facebook or myspace, and once you know the dates and times of the Beta Alpha Psi events, all you need to do is show up with a great attitude, have a good time, and start building your network with professional peers and employers. This year we have a huge member base full of motivated individuals, so come join our success in the Zeta Iota chapter and have a great year!
